This is the Heddal church in Norway. Hundreds of years old, made of "standing woods". This church is located in a very nice place. It is surrounded by a small cemetery. We just send 2 weeks in Norway in a motorhome, circling in the south of this HUGE country. I made a HDR from 3 jpegs to render some of the wonderful clouds of the place.

  • Very nice composition but terribly soft. Is the vignetting on purpose? What did you use for tone mapping?

  • Thanks for the comments. I think the softness come from the bracketing. I put the camera on a gravestone as I had no tripod. So one of the pictures is not perfectly aligned, giving this blurry touch. Vignetting and tone mapping were done in Photoshop in order to give an old style atmosphere.

  • Photomatix can align pictures to some extent, when generating the HDR. But I now (much) prefer the new "auto-align layers" feature of photoshop CS3, which does a great job. Nearly all my HDR are backeted handheld, so I have this problem a lot.

  • The coloring is really good. The church looks nice and warm :)
